Shaye Swanson is a composer, arranger, and vocalist from Los Angeles, California. Her first documentary feature Road to 50 Miles was screened at La Femme International Film Festival and Hollywood Screenings Festival. She scored two shorts: the documentary Faith Alone, which aired on PBS and the sci-fi short Self, which won the audience award for best narrative short at SF Indie Film Festival (2022). In addition, Shaye has written music to choreographed dance, including Process, which was performed at the American College Dance Association Baja Conference (2020). Shaye developed the opera Interior which was work-shopped at Dartmouth College and received funding from the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation.

 

Shaye earned her M.M. in Music Composition from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (California State University, Long Beach), her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Lawrence University, and was an artist in residence at Dartmouth College.

Shaye assisted Genevieve Vincent and was her technical music assistant on three feature films: The Stand, What Happened to Judi Singh?, and In Flight now streaming on Apple TV+. In addition to composing, Shaye also works at the film-composer agency Kraft - Engel Management.
