Shaye Swanson is a composer, arranger, and vocalist from Los Angeles, California. Her first documentary feature Road to 50 Miles was screened at La Femme International Film Festival and Hollywood Screenings Festival. She scored two shorts: the documentary Faith Alone, which aired on PBS and the sci-fi short Self, which won the audience award for best narrative short at SF Indie Film Festival (2022). In addition, Shaye has written music to choreographed dance, including Process, which was performed at the American College Dance Association Baja Conference (2020). Shaye is currently developing the opera Interior which was workshopped at Dartmouth College and received funding from the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation. 

 

She currently works for composer Genevieve Vincent and was her technical music assistant on two feature films: The Stand which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and In Flight, now streaming on Apple TV+.

 

Shaye earned her M.M. in Music Composition from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music (CSULB), her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Lawrence University, and was an artist in residence at Darmouth College.
